My name is Mike but everyone calls me Hammik. I grew up in Spanish Harlem and moved out to New Jersey when I was 6. I lived in various suburbs of Newark, NJ including Maplewood, South Orange and Orange. I have been into music as long as I can remember but strangely enough never played anything. My parents used to take me to alot of live shows growing up and one of the most memorable of these shows was every year we would go to the Saratoga Jazz Festival. I got to see acts like Al Green, Carlos Santana and Little Richard which did a good job of making sure that I would never be able to tolerate most of the crap that is played on the radio. I recieved my associates in Liberal Arts from Essex County College in Newark and now I'm hoping to finish up somewhere else and major in education with a minor in agriculture.
My musical interests are very broad. I love the blues, jazz and rock but I have found that the more I find out about them the more I like folk, country and gypsy music. I am a huge Les Claypool fan and have been increasingly getting into Frank Zappa.
I love to go skiing in the winter and love hiking, kayaking, biking and camping in the summer. I also love to cook and eat and go out drinking with my friends.
