Hey folks. 33 year old folk/bluegrass/jug harp player (and, to a lesser degree, banjo player) with some questions about diminished harps. I've been thinking of picking one up for the first time to experiment with minor modes, chromatic playing and general sonic weirdness, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I've been thinking of getting a soloist pro 12 steel. There aren't a lot of options out there for diminished "diatonic" harps, and I've been really pleased with the quality and sound of the reeds on my 1847 silver. Also, the extra range of a 12 hole harp is appealing. Does anyone have any experience with the soloist pro 12 steel or with diminished tunings on a diatonic? What do you folks think? Is the pro 12 steel a good choice? Thanks for any help you can give me!
